The French Senate on Wednesday passed a bill authorizing the ratification of the extradition treaty between France and China, despite opposition of some senators, who fear that this treaty opens the door to abuse of Beijing. The UMP, the Socialist Group, the CRC group (Communist) and the majority of centrists voted for. Voted against the environmental group, RDSE (to radical left majority)-except Senator Robert Tropéano who voted for-and three centrist senators (Daniel Dubois, Joel Guerriau Catherine Morin-Desailly).
Malgré l'opposition de certains sénateurs, qui redoutent que ce traité ouvre la voie à des abus de la part de Pékin, le Sénat a adopté mercredi un projet de loi autorisant la ratification du traité d'extradition entre la France et la Chine. L'UMP, le groupe socialiste, le groupe CRC (communiste) et la majorité des centristes ont voté pour. Ont voté contre le groupe écologiste, le RDSE (à majorité radicaux de gauche) -sauf le sénateur Robert Tropéano qui a voté pour-, et trois sénateurs centristes (Daniel Dubois, Joël Guerriau, Catherine Morin-Desailly).
